I thought that I would add my experience also. My SKR Mini E3 v3.0 was working and then suddenly OctoPi couldn't detect it. I tried a variety of different ways to get it to reconnect, but in the end it turned out that the USB port on the SKR had died. I replaced the board and everything worked again.Pretty sure you can just hardcode the stepper current (MAX_CURRENT) in the firmware or use the MCode (M906) that is built into Marlin to set it after the fact. Assuming you can send the printer MCode commands. There should also be a way to set it in the configuration menu once the board is flashed too.
