It will start to drop, but should level off at a value of 12v or higher. If it continues to sink and goes below 12v, battery is kaput. 6. I suggest removing the bolt or nut, scuffing the frame/engine surface and ground cable terminal with an abrasive material, apply a dielectric grease and reconnect. Bike went in for hesitation problem. Was having a stutter between 1st & 2nd gear. The dealer put in a new jet kit, cleaned out the tank, new fuel lines, and fuel filter., POGs were replaces with steel starting in 2000, so that won't be an issue. Once it has over 30-40k miles, it may need cam chain tensioner extenders, but that's an easy fix.
