I took the NCLEX in Calif a while ago and never had heard of the PearsonVue trick. However, what does work is to go to the Board of Registered Nursing online license verification page and check to see if you're licensed. If you're licensed, you passed!!! It usually takes about 3-5 business days before your licence status get updated.I got the bad pop up! So I took my NCLEX today and finished at 77 questions.
