I would hold off on panicking - everything I have seen looks true to form. I'd want a .300 AAC with that short of a barrel. The cartridge was designed for short barrels specifically in mind.There's no way you'd be able to run low power rounds through the suppressor plug unsuppressed, though, no matter how broken in the gun is. The hole sizes on each plug just don't overlap enough. It shoots fine suppressed.
