Setting up new xfinity modem

For the moment I've reconnected our old device. We have some work-critical internet usage this weekend and I was hoping to get the new devices activated tonight so we'd have a more stable connection. We'll muddle through with our current device, but I'd still like to know what I need to do to successfully set up my new modem and router. Thank you!
