The battery is on the backside of that circuit board. All I needed to do was insert a small screwdriver into the backside of the green circuit board and with just a little force it all pops right out. Battery is now replaced and I feel like an idiot. But my car no longer flashes that "access battery is low" message and me and all is good again.
